The Pictou County Chamber of Commerce is a key player in the economic and community development of rural Nova Scotia. In addition to its work in support of local businesses and entrepreneurs, the Chamber is known for its willingness to work in partnership with like- minded organizations to encourage growth and improve the quality of life in northern Nova Scotia.
Recent partnerships have included the creation of a business/government consortium to construct an energy efficient Band office for the Pictou Landing First Nation, the creation of Newcomer Welcome Centres through the Pictou Antigonish Regional Library system, the creation of a shared work space “Hub” for local entrepreneurs and active involvement with the Nova Scotia Office of Regulatory Affairs and Service Effectiveness.
The Chamber currently has 230 active members and operates from offices in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia.
